Close; 3,000 Light Years

A track composed for Thailand Game Jam X OST Composing Jam. The track is made for a story about an astronaut in a doomed space expedition. While danger and death await every second, our astronaut must make it out alive so they can return to someone they love back home, million miles away from where they stranded.

TRACK 1: CLOSE

"Be careful using the word 'close' We are a discovery team going to places no one have ever been and find things no one have ever seen. 

The last time I was told we were close to our destination, we then stranded in the middle of god-knows-where for 8 months and lost 136 men to god-knows-what.

'Close' is nothing. In fact, it is worse than nothing."

- Excerpt from a conversion log between Cpt. [REDACTED] of the 32nd Expedition Team and the Command Center. Actually a quote from AMC's The Terror SS1 with some alteration. It's very cool mini-series I recommend to check it out!

For this track, I think of eeriness of being in the space; the fragility of life there where a minor malfunction in the spacesuit could means a cruel death, and yet our protagonist still keeps on to survive because he knows someone is waiting for his return.

TRACK 2: 3,000 LIGHT YEARS

This is the first song I made for the jam. I imagined what it's like to look at the stars in a space and a sense of longing when being away from places and people you love for a very long time.
